Former Ron Bendall squad member Liz Clay won her way onto Australia’s Olympic team when she won the open women’s 100m hurdles on Day 7 of the National Track and Field Championships at SOPAC.

Liz trained with the Ron Bendall squad from ages 12 to 20 before moving to Brisbane and as a 19-year-old won selection in the Australian team to the World Junior Championships.

Earlier in the day current squad member Jessie Wong qualified for the final of the under 18 years 400m hurdles, finishing third in her heat.

And in her first open national final, Susie Douglas finished eighth in the women’s 400m hurdles.
