At the age of 46 years Monique Perry almost made her first open NSW final at Wollongong on Saturday.
Competing in the open women’s 60m championship, Monique finished second in her heat behind the eventual championship winner Monique Quirk to be ninth fastest qualifier, just missing a place in the eight woman final.
Some consolation was the fact she won the women’s 40+ years category.
Squad mate Dave Turner was second in the men’s 40+ years age category.
Riley Sloan finished third in his heat of the open men’s 400m while Daniel Nolan finished third in his heat of the open men’s 100m.
