Monique defies the wind and rain

Monique Perry . . . 60m record

In her first run in the 45+ years age group, Monique Perry smashed the UTS Norths club record for the 60m at SOPAC on Saturday.

Competing cold and raining conditions in Round 1 of Treloar Shield competition, Monique defied a stiff 1.2m headwind and a wet track to break the old record by 0.25 seconds.

In her first outing over the distance, Jessie Wong won the open women’s 400m hurdles and set a personal best in finishing third in her heat of the 60m.

Jo Davis also ran a 60m personal best time when she finished second in her heat and Xin Min Tan did the same.

Jacob Orr and Ken Elias followed suit in their heats of the men’s 60m.

Nickl Dowling won his heat of the open men’s 200m and Curtis Kingsmill finished third in his heat of the open men’s 800m.
